šĀ Today weād like to share how one of theĀ core priorities of the AIM@VETĀ project āĀ promoting sustainable practicesĀ ā has been put into action, both in our educational approach and in the organization of international activities.Ā š
To show you what this means in practice, weāll take a look at how this commitment came to life during our third training activity, held this June in the coastal city of Ferrol, Spain:
šĀ The Portuguese teamĀ ā students and staff from the vocational school in Caldas das Taipas āĀ travelled entirely by train, significantly reducing their environmental impact.
šĀ The Slovenian group, coming from much farther away,Ā flew into Spain and then continued their journey by bus from Madrid to Ferrol, opting for a collective and more sustainable choice for the domestic leg of their trip.
š¶āāļøš¶āāļøĀ During the training days,Ā all participants walked about 20 minutes dailyĀ to reach the venue, encouraging a healthy and low-impact routine.
š±Ā Cultural and outdoor activitiesĀ were selected with sustainability in mind: students visited large natural spaces like Monte de San Pedro in A CoruƱa, hiked along Ferrolās scenic coastline, and enjoyed eco-friendly sports activities on PantĆn beach.
š§Ā A highlight was the visit to aĀ rural cooperative near the Fragas do Eume Natural Park, internationally recognized for producing cheese using environmentally sustainable methods that support local economies.
š¤Ā At the heart of AIM@VET isĀ inclusion, sustainability, and cultural exchange. TA3 brought together young people from across Europe to learn, grow, and connect ā while staying mindful of their footprint on the planet.
